How to apply for Kenya e-Passport Online 2024. The Kenya Immigration Service has now made it easy for citizens to apply for their Kenyan e-passport online using the eCitizen portal. In this post, we will assist our readers with all the application requirements and steps to apply for a Kenyan e-passport online.

Documents required for Kenya e-Passport Application

Persons applying for the new Kenya e-passport will be required to provide scanned copies of the following documents during the online application process;

  • A duly filled application Form 19 and 2 payment invoices
  • A copy of the applicant’s Birth Certificate
  • Certificate of Registration for citizens of Kenya by registration
  • Original applicant’s national identity card and a copy for adults
  • Copy of the recommender national identity card
  • Duly filled Consent Form for minors
  • Copies of parents’ national identity cards/ Death certificates where applicable
  • Original and Copies of parents’ birth certificates
  • And any other additional document as may be required
  • Payment receipts of the prescribed fee

Steps to apply for your e-passport online

As a recognized Kenyan citizen you can apply for your e-passport online with these guidelines;

  • Visit the Kenya eCitizen Portal
  • Click on the Directorate of Immigration option
  • Register for an e-citizen account if you are a first-time user or login with your ID Number and password
  • Fill out the online application form with your details
  • Scan and upload all the required application documents
  • Proceed to make payment
  • Book an appointment for bio-metrics submission
  • Print the duly completed application form and two invoices
  • Attach copies of the required documents
  • Submit and bio-metrics (on the appointment date)

Kenya e-Passport Submission and Biometrics Capture

All applicants applying for an e-passport must appear in person at the various stations as per the appointments for submission and enrolment of bio-metrics. The application centers are as follows

  • Nairobi – Nyayo House Ground Floor
  • Mombasa – Uhuru na Kazi Mombasa P.o box 90284 Mombasa
  • Kisumu – New PC’s office Kisumu
  • Embu – Embu PC’s office

Passport delivery

Passport delivery is done through Postal Corporation Services within the country while delivery to foreign missions is done by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
