IUM Student Courses And Requirements

To apply for a postgraduate degree program at the International University of Management (IUM), you must meet these minimum requirements

• Hold a relevant Bachelor’s Honors degree in the upper-class division or equivalent from a reputable institution
• Possess professional qualifications or membership in professional institutions considered equivalent to a diploma or first degree by the IUM Higher Degrees Committee, approved by the IUM Senate
• Have an undergraduate degree
• Additional qualifications and work experience may be necessary for all candidates.
• Achieve a GPA of 2.75 or higher in the last 60 semester credits or a pass rate of 65%
• Provide three letters of recommendation from university senior lecturers or professors
• Submit a two-page motivation write-up explaining the candidate’s intention to join the Master’s program
• First Master’s degree holders follow standard admission requirements
• Admissions occur once a year in January
• Candidates may need to take a Graduate English Examination (GEE) before admission, set and administered by the School of Postgraduate Studies
• Departments may have additional requirements

For undergraduate degree programs

• Normal entry requires a Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate (Ordinary or Higher) or equivalent qualification(s)
• Pass five subjects, including English at Grade D, in not more than three examination sittings with a minimum of 25 points on the IUM’s evaluation scale
• Information Technology course applicants need a pass in Mathematics, with a C required for Digital Communication Technology and a D for Business Information Systems

Stand Alone programs

• Normal entry requires a Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate (Ordinary or Higher) or equivalent qualification(s)
• Pass five subjects, including English at Grade D, in not more than three examination sittings with a minimum of 20 points on the IUM’s evaluation scale

Preparatory programs

• Normal entry requires a Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate (Ordinary or Higher) or equivalent qualification(s).
• Pass five subjects, including English at Grade D, in not more than three examination sittings with a minimum of 18 points on the IUM’s evaluation scale
