How to check for a PSV Driver or Conductor’s License with SMS
You can check the PSV driver or conductor’s license, by sending an SMS with your ID number to 22846 in this format OP 1029111055.
How to check a PSV SACCO License with SMS
To check the status of your PSV SACCO or Company license by SMS, send an SMS containing the Sacco/Company name to 22486 in the following format SACCO followed by the name of the Sacco/company.

How to check a PSV Night Travel License
To check for the validity of a PSV Night Travel License via SMS send the motor vehicle registration number to 22846 using the following format NT KYX 453Y.
How to apply for the NTSA Smart Driving License
Follow these procedures to apply for your Kenya driving license online via the NTSA TIMS Portal;
- Visit the NTSA TIMS Portal via https://ntsa.go.ke
- Log in with your username and Password (Hint* you may also log in with your eCitizen portal account)
- Click on the driving license menu
- Select Apply for smart DL
- Make a payment of Kshs. 3,050 as the NTSA processing fee
- Proceed to book an appointment once your payment is successful
- Visit the NTSA office of your county with a passport photo for your details to be confirmed and biometrics to be captured
- Your smart NTSA driving license should be ready for collection after five (5) working days

How to Renew Your NTSA Driving License Online
- Visit the NTSA TIMS Portal via https://ntsa.go.ke
- Log in with your username and password (Hint* Create an account if you are a first-time user)
- Select the driving license renewal option from the available services
- Enter your driving license reference number
- Select your mode of payment. Options include M-Pesa and debit/credit card.
- Make a payment of Ksh. 600 as the license renewal fees and a convenience fee of Kshs. 50 for a year
- Print out your renewal slip

Notice to NTSA Driving License Applicants
No driving license or provisional license shall be granted to any person
- Under the age of sixteen years;
- Under the age of eighteen (18) years, except in respect of motorcycles; or
- Endorsed in respect of matatus and motor omnibuses, unless he
- Is over the age of twenty-four (24) years; and
- Has for not less than four (4) years held a license endorsed in respect of motor cars or commercial vehicles.
Any person driving a motor vehicle on a road shall carry his driving license or provisional license, and on being so required by a police officer, produce it for examination.
