NTSA TIMS Portal. Access the Kenya National Transport and Safety Authority – NTSA TIMS portal and log in with your username and password to complete all your vehicle registration and application processes online. Applicants who already have a Kenya eCitizen Portal Account can also log in with their eCitizen username and password without having to create a separate account on the NTSA Portal.

In this post, we will assist our readers with guidelines on how to access and log into the NTSA portal, complete your registration if you are a first-time user, and apply for the NTSA new generation number plates for cars and motorcycles.

NTSA TIMS Account Registration Process

Follow these procedures to create your NTSA portal TIMS account if you are a first-time user;

• Visit the NTSA TIMS Portal via https://timsvirl.ntsa.go.ke
• Click on the register account link
• Select your preferred type of registration (ie. Individual, Dealer, Institution, etc)
• Enter your Serial Number for individual registration type and Tax PIN for other registration types
• Click on the Search button to load your records
• Fill out the form with all the required details to complete your registration

How to apply for New NTSA Number Plates

Follow these procedures to apply for the new Kenya NTSA New generation number plates online via the NTSA TIMS portal;

Procedures for NTSA Number Plates Application for Vehicles

• Visit the NTSA TIM Portal the https://timsvirl.ntsa.go.ke
• Enter your ID/Username and password
• Click on the login button
• Wait for the system to authenticate and redirect you to the dashboard
• Select vehicle registration and apply for a reflective plate
• Select the vehicle and click on next button
• Select reason (New Generation Plate)
• Select your preferred notification method (ie. SMS)
• Choose a number plate and format (square or oblong)
• Upload in PDF original logbook and plate (Front and back)
• Select the collection center and enter your ID number
• Make a payment of Ksh 3,050
• A Collection notification will be sent to you via SMS when your plate is ready for pickup

Procedures for NTSA Number Plates Application for Motorcycles

• Visit the NTSA TIM Portal the https://timsvirl.ntsa.go.ke
• Enter your ID/Username and password
• Click on the login button
• Wait for the system to authenticate and redirect you to the dashboard
• Select vehicle registration and apply for a reflective plate
• Select the vehicle and click on next
• Select reason (New Generation Plate)
• Select your preferred notification method (ie. SMS)
• Choose a number plate and format (square)
• Upload in PDF original logbook and plate (Rear)
• Select the collection center and enter your ID number
• Make a payment of Ksh 1,550
• A Collection notification will be sent to you via SMS when your plate is ready for pickup
