History of SA Youth
SA Youth is a national program that provides free learning and earning opportunities to young South Africans.
It was started by President Cyril Ramaposa on Youth Day, June 16, 2021, as part of the Presidential Youth Employment Intervention (PYEI) to address youth unemployment and equip them with skills and resources.
Application Requirements 2024
To apply for the SA Youth Teacher Assistant position, here are the requirements
- Ensure you are between 18 and 35 years old.
- Be a South African resident with a valid RSA ID book, card, passport, or valid work permit.
- Reside within 5 km of the prospective school of employment, excluding farm schools.
- Possess at least a Matric qualification for Education Assistants or General School Assistants roles.
- Please confirm that you are not currently employed, studying, undergoing training (even part-time), or receiving government grants (such as NSFAS, Funza Lushaka, etc.).
- Make sure you haven’t participated in the program before or have a criminal record.
