Tertiary Education Trust Fund, Tetfund Scholarship 2024, is a Nigerian government agency that funds educational infrastructure and scholarships in public tertiary institutions. Tetfund Scholarship Application Process 2024/2025
To apply to the Tertiary Education Trust Fund scholarship online, follow the steps provided below
Application Submission
- Beneficiary institutions (Your School) must submit recommendations along with minutes of the relevant selection committee
- Submissions must include supporting documents: Admission Letter, TETFund Nomination Form, Applicant’s Resume, University’s Fee Schedule, Bond Form, Medical Certificate, and Bank Details
Payment Processing
- TETFund will process scholarship applications twice a year: in May for programs that start in September and in October for programs that commence in January
- Then, obtain a tuition fee invoice from your institution, stating the total amount for the entire study program, and submit it along with other documents
Invoice Requirements
- The invoice must show the total fee for the entire duration, bear the scholar’s full name, and include the institution’s bank details for tuition payment
- Also, specify the details required for the invoice including the total amount payable, Bank Name, Bank Address, Account Number, Sort Code, etc.
Mandatory Requirement
- Applications lacking the mandatory invoice requirement will not be considered for sponsorship
Soft Copy Submission
- Submissions must include a soft copy on a memory stick in MS Excel format, following the approved template. An advance soft copy may also be emailed to [email protected] and ast&[email protected]
Program Commencement Approval
- Approval from TETFund is required before scholars commence their programs. No reimbursement requests will be entertained without prior Fund approval
Scholarship Award
- Successful nominees will receive a scholarship award letter through their institutions, outlining entitlements, fees, and conditions
Variation Requests
- Also, requests for cost variation after approval and fund release will not be entertained
Communication and Payments
- After vetting, TETFund will communicate approval to both the institution and individual scholars. Living expenses will be paid through the institutions for scholars to begin their study fellowship
Domiciliary Account
- Beneficiary institutions should open a domiciliary account for foreign-based scholars, then provide evidence of compliance with TETFund
Tuition Fee Payment
- TETFund will directly pay tuition fees to foreign institutions

Eligibility Criteria for TETFund Scholarship (TSAS Intervention)
To qualify for the TETFund scholarship under the TSAS intervention, a nominee must
- Be a full-time Nigerian Academic Staff, employed at and nominated by a beneficiary institution
- Have obtained admission to pursue a full-time study program as specified in ‘A’ above, in a university that meets the guidelines in ‘B’ above
- Not applying for a second Master’s degree or a second doctorate
- Be bonded by the institution
- A nominee applying for a doctorate scholarship, who has previously benefited from the Fund’s scholarship for a Master’s degree, must have completed the bond period for the Master’s degree before applying for sponsorship for the doctorate study
- Also, you must not currently be receiving any other scholarship
- Provide evidence of medical fitness from a public hospital, not health centers
