Here are the admission requirements for all programmes in the Nurses and Midwifery Training colleges in Ghana.
Admission Requirements for Diploma in Nursing
Below are the entry requirements for admission into diploma programmes in the Nursing and Midwifery Training Colleges in Ghana:
- Registered General Nursing
- Registered Mental Nursing
- Registered Midwifery (Females only)
- Registered Community Health Nursing ( Now Public Health)

WASSCE Applicants
- Applicant must be between the ages of 18 – 35 years during the time of application
- Applicant must have an aggregate score of thirty (30) or better in three (3) core subjects and three(3) elective subjects
- An applicant must have Credits (A1 – C6) in three Core Subjects i.e. English, Mathematics and Integrated Science
- An applicant must have Credits (A1 – C6) in three Elective Subjects
SSSCE Applicants
- An aggregate score of Twenty-four (24) or better in six subjects, comprising 3core and 3 elective subjects.
- Credits (A- D) in three Core Subjects i.e. English, Mathematics and Integrated Science
- Credits (A – D) in three Electives Subjects.
Requirements for Certificate Nursing Programmes (AUXILIARY programmes)
Below are the entry requirements for admission into auxiliary nursing programmes in the Nursing and Midwifery Training Colleges in Ghana:
- Nurse Assistant Preventive (NAP) formerly Community Health Nursing (CHN)
- Health Assistant Clinical (NAC)
WASSCE Applicants
- Applicant must be between the ages of 18 – 35 years during the time of application
- A cut-off aggregate score of Forty-Eight (48) or better in six subjects, comprising 3 core and 3 elective subjects.
- At least credits (A1-E8) in three core subjects. e.g.English, Mathematics and Integrated Science.
- At least passes (A1-E8) in three Elective subjects
SSSCE Applicants
- A cutoff aggregate score of Thirty (30) or better in six subjects, comprising 3 core and 3 elective subjects.
- At least Passes (A – E) in three core subjects (English, Mathematics and Integrated Science).
- AT least passes (A – E) in three Elective subjects

Nursing Training College Application Process
You can apply for the Nursing training college admission online using the following guidelines:
- Purchase an NTC voucher for 200GH from GCB or ADB
- Visit healthtraining.gov.gh portal
- Click on the apply button
- Fill out the form with your required details
- Upload your certificate and passport photo
- Submit and print-out application summary (Keep a copy for yourself)
- Regularly log in to the application portal to check your application status with your PIN and serial
Is D7 Accepted In Nurses Training College?
Yes. D7 and E8 grades are accepted for admission into the Nursing and Midwifery training colleges. However, preference will be given to applicants with better grades. You can also browse a list of Nursing Training Colleges in Ghana here.
Do nursing training accept F9?
No. F9 grade is a fail. Applicants are advised to better their grades and reapply for a higher admission chance.
