Requirements for DV Lottery Application
You will be required to meet the education/work experience requirement of the DV program by having either;
- At least a high school education or its equivalent, defined as successful completion of a 12-year course of formal elementary and secondary education.
- Two (2) years of work experience within the past five years in an occupation that requires at least two years of training or experience to perform.
Photo Instructions for DV Lottery Application
The passport photo uploaded for your DV lottery application must meet the following requirements;
- Photos with you in Glasses will not be accepted
- Your photo should be 2”x 2” (51 x 51 mm) with the head centered and sized between 1” and 1.4” (25 and 35 mm).
- Your digital photo must be in .JPEG file and at least 54 kilobytes in size
- Take your photo in front of a white or off-white background instead of cropping out the background
- You may not wear hats or head coverings, except for religious or medical purposes.
- You are required to use the official DV Program photo tool to crop and resize your photo.
How to apply for DV Lottery 2025
Follow these procedures to submit your entry online for the 2025 Diversity Immigrant Visa (DV) program;
- Visit the DV Lottery online application portal at www.dvprogram.state.gov
- Read the Entry Instructions and Photo Instructions
- Click on the Begin Entry button
- Enter the Capture code in the input field
- Fill out the entrant registration form with all your details
- Your Full Name (NB. Check the No middle name checkbox if you don’t have a middle name)
- Gender
- Date of Birth
- City
- Country
- Upload your photograph (Check the photograph instructions for the approved standard)
- Provide your email
- Enter your educational qualification
- Specify your marital status
- Click on the continue button to proceed
- A unique applicant entrant number will be generated by the system
- This number will be used to check the status of your DV Lottery entrant status when the results are released.
Closing Date for DV Lottery Registration 2025
