How to Generate Your MKU Student Offer Letter
As a new applicant of Mount Kenya University, you will need an admission letter to prove your admission offer. This letter comes with vital information such as your Student ID which will be required to log into the MKU Student portal to complete all your academic activities online. Follow these steps to generate your MKU offer letter.
- Visit the MKU student portal URL via www.studentportal.mku.ac.ke
- Scroll to the Applicants/New Students form section
- Enter the Application Ref. No which was given to you during your application process
- Click on the generate offer letter button
- Wait for the system to authenticate and load your information
- Click on the download button to save a PDF document of your MKU admission letter
- This letter should come with your Student ID which will be required to log into your MKU student portal account
NB: If you don’t remember your application ref number, use your Index No / Exam Year (E.g. 01234567001/2019)

- Visit the MKU student portal URL via www.studentportal.mku.ac.ke
- Enter your student ID/Registration number and password. (NB: Your default password is National ID / Passport No. or Mobile No.)

As a student of Mount Kenya University, you can log into your student portal once you complete your initial registration process with these guidelines;
- Access the MKU student portal URL via www.studentportal.mku.ac.ke
- Enter your student number
- Enter your student ID/Registration number
- Click on the login button
NB: It’s advisable you change the default password to a more secure one for maximum security.

MKU Student Portal Course Registration
Follow these procedures to register for your semester courses on the Mount Kenya University student portal;
- Visit the MKU student portal and log in with your student No. and password via www.studentportal.mku.ac.ke
- Click on the course registration link
- Enter the course code and select the first attempt option if it’s your first time. You may select the retake option if you are registering for a reseat. (NB: The course code can be found under the timetable page)
- Click on the register courses button to add the selected course
- Click on the confirm selected courses to complete your registration
- Download and print out your registration form to finalize the process
