How to Login Your PTDF Scholarship and Apply 2024

Follow the procedure below to access your portal online and apply

  1. Visit the portal via ptdf.gov.ng
  2. Click on Login with Existing Account and you will be redirected to another page
  3. Enter your Username or Email Address and Password
  4. Then, click on the Sign in button to access your portal
  5. Continue to Apply online

How to Create Your PTDF Scholarship 2024

To create your account on the PTDF scholarship online please follow the steps below;

  1. Visit the portal via ptdf.gov.ng
  2. Click on Create an Applicant Account and you will be redirected to another page
  3. Continue to complete your application form with your details
  4. Confirm your identity by uploading your National ID
  5. Then click on Create to complete the process

Guide to Reset Your Portal Password

To reset your portal, follow the steps below

  1. Visit the portal via ptdf.gov.ng
  2. Click on Login with Existing Account and you will be redirected to another page
  3. Then, click on Forget Password
  4. Enter your email address  and click on the Reset button to retrieve the password

Application Requirements for 2024/2025

  • Academic merit as evidenced by the quality of degrees, full academic transcripts, and other professional qualifications acquired
  • Relevant publications to be referenced by applicant (PhD applicants only)
  • Membership in professional bodies
  • The viability of the study/research plan

MSc Requirements

  • To be eligible for the MSc program, applicants must have either a First Class or Second Class Upper (2.1) qualification in their first degree or a Second Class Lower (2.2) with relevant industry experience
  • Additionally, you must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC), be computer literate, possess 5 O/level credits (including English Language and Mathematics), and submit a Statement of Purpose (maximum 500 words) outlining the reasons for pursuing the proposed study, its industry relevance, and expected impact on national development.
  • Applicants must also have a National Identity Number (NIN), and verification is required before applying for the scholarship

Ph.D. Requirements

  • Ph.D. applicants must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC), be computer literate, and hold a minimum of Second Class Lower (2.2) in their first degree along with a good second-degree certificate
  • You are required to submit a research proposal (not exceeding five pages) related to the oil and gas industry. The proposal should cover key elements such as title, introduction, research problem, aim, research questions/objectives, scope, summarized literature, methodology, and expected outcomes where necessary
  • Additionally, lecturers must provide a letter from their Vice Chancellors confirming they are not receiving any other scholarships if shortlisted
  • Similar to MSc applicants, PhD candidates must have a National Identity Number (NIN), and verification is necessary before applying for the scholarship

Required Documents

  1. First Degree Certificate or Statement of Result
  2. NYSC discharge certificate
  3. WAEC/GCE/SSCE/NECO results and the PINs on the application forms enable PTDF to view the O’level results on the relevant website.
  4. Recent Passport Photograph
  5. Local Government Identification Letter
  6. Master’s Degree Certificate (PhD Applicants only)
  7. Evidence of membership in professional associations
