DUT Online Application. The Durban University of Technology – DUT Online Application for the 2024/2025 academic year is currently in progress. South African and Foreign Applicants must meet the following entry requirements to be considered for admission at the Durban University of Technology;
Entry Requirements for South African Applicants
Bachelor’s Degree Programmes
A National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by the Council for General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi), with a minimum achievement rating of 3 for English and a minimum achievement rating of 4 in four NSC 20-credit subjects chosen from the NSC designated subject list.
Diploma Programmes
A National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by the Council for General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi), with a minimum achievement rating of 3 for English and a minimum achievement rating of 3 in four recognized NSC 20-credit subjects
Higher Certificate Programmes
A National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by the Council for General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi), with a minimum achievement rating of 3 for English
Note: Over and above the minimum entrance requirements, each department also sets specific entrance requirements which applicants need to meet.

DUT Entry Requirements for NCV LEVEL 4
Applicants with National Certificate Vocational Qualification interested in studying at the Durban University of Technology must meet these entry requirements;
Bachelor’s Degree Applicants
A National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4 with the following minimum requirements:
- At least 60% in three fundamental subjects including English
- At least 70% in four compulsory vocational subjects, chosen from the National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4
Diploma Applicants
A National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4 with the following minimum requirements:
- At least 50% in three fundamental subjects including English
- At least 60% in three compulsory vocational
Higher Certificate Applicants
- A National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4 with at least 50% in English.
DUT Online Application Process
Follow these guidelines to apply for admission at the Durban University of Technology (DUT);
- Visit the Central Applications Office (CAO) website www.cao.ac.za
- Click on the Available programmes option to browse through the list of available programmes
- Click on Apply Now
- Enter your index number or passport number
- Complete your application by filling in all the required details
- Pay for the application fee
- Print out the declaration form and Deposit slip
- Attach the required documents and proof of payment to your declaration form
- Post to CAO OR hand in at CAO offices
- Keep the receipt and make a note of your CAO number and password

Cost of Durban University of Technology Application Fee
South African applicants are required to make a payment of R250.00 for the Durban University of Technology application fee and international applicants are to pay R300.00 for the 2024 application fee.
