The Federal Scholarship Board (FSB) 2024 is a part of the Federal Ministry of Education in Nigeria. It is responsible for managing government policies and programs that award scholarships to deserving Nigerian students. The board, which is led by a Director who also serves as the Secretary main responsibilities are to create policies, develop plans for the effective utilization of scholarships, and grant awards to deserving Nigerian students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The board also has the responsibility of fulfilling the Federal Government’s commitments to Bilateral Education Agreements (BEA) and Multi-Lateral (Commonwealth) Agreements on scholarships and fellowships. It operates through four divisions: Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA), Nigerian Awards, Commonwealth Scholarship and Sustainable Development Goals.

The board facilitates online applications for various scholarships such as BEA, Commonwealth, PRESSID, and NYSC EX-Corps, and provides information and data on student matters.

How to Apply For the Federal Scholarship 2024/2025

To apply to FBS online, follow the steps provided below

  1. Visit the FSB website via education.gov.ng
  2. Click on the Click to Apply button on the page
  3. You will be redirected to your application page
  4. Complete your application form and upload all necessary documents
  5. Then submit your application online

Federal Scholarship Board Application Requirements 2024/2025

Below are the eligibility requirements for your scholarship application 

  1. Undergraduate Scholarships
    • Possess a minimum qualification of seven distinctions (As & Bs) in relevant subjects.
    • Include English Language and Mathematics in the Senior Secondary School Certificates, WASSCE/WAEC (May/June).
  2. Postgraduate Scholarships
    • Hold a first degree with a 1st Class or at least 2nd Class Upper Division.
    • Complete the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.
    • Be under 35 years for Masters and 40 years for Ph.D.1.
