Harmonised National Prospectus for SHS Students

The Ghana Education Service (GES) in an effort to address discrepancies in the prospectus for new high school students has come up with a new initiative called the National  Prospectus. The objective of this initiative is to enable parents to acquire a list of school-going items ahead of time instead of having to wait until the CSSPS Placements are released.

The national prospectus was put together by a committee made up of representatives from the Ghana Education Service (GES), Free SHS Secretariat, and TVET Service, with the Conference of Heads of Government Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) also making an input.

Another major factor why the National prospectus is necessary is to eliminate items that schools could do without and also ensure that schools do not include such items and use same as a barrier to the timely enrolment of students.
