How to check KCPE Results via KNEC Portal
You can check your 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results online with these guidelines;
- Visit the KNEC portal via www.knec-portal.ac.ke
- Click on the KCPE results button
- Select the year of your KCPE examination
- Enter your assigned KCPE index number
- Click on the Submit button
- Your KCPE results slip will be displayed on the page
- You can then download the KCPE result or print it out
How to Check KCPE Results by SMS 2023
Candidates may access their KCPE results via the text message channel with these guidelines;
- Compose a new SMS on your phone
- Write your Index Number followed by KCPE (Example: 24667147008KCPE)
- Send the text message to the shortcode 20076
- An SMS will be sent to your phone shortly with your KCPE result
Note: A small fee may be charged as a service fee by your Network service provider. This service is available on Safaricom, Airtel, and Orange networks.

How to Request KCPE Results from Your School
KCPE results slip for 2023 can be obtained from the headteacher of your school. He/she will be able to download all results slips of candidates who participated in the examinations.
How long will it take to get your KCPE Certificate
Result slips are dispatched to the Sub County Directors of Education to be collected by the heads of institutions within one month after the release of KCPE examinations. Certificates are received by the school 8 months after sitting examinations.
