KNEC Business Examinations General Information
- Arrival Time: Arrive at your seat in the Examination Room five minutes before the scheduled time for each paper. All sessions start at 8:00 am
- Punctuality: If you arrive late, provide a satisfactory reason to the supervisor. In normal circumstances, a paper will not be given to any candidate who is more than thirty minutes late. Timeliness is crucial, especially for certain papers like Shorthand
- Handling of Papers: If you receive an examination paper that you are not registered for or if the questions imply that additional materials should have been provided, immediately notify the supervisor
- General Directions: Pay close attention to any general directions given at the beginning of a paper, such as instructions specifying the number of questions to be answered
- Answer Book/Sheet: On the first page of each answer book or sheet, write your name, index number, and the name of the paper. Clearly write your index number on every sheet or page
- Writing and Formatting: Write on both sides of the paper, excluding the margins. Begin each part of a question on a new line. Clearly write the question number in the left-hand margin before each answer. Avoid copying the question. Leave a blank line after each answer
- Writing Tools: Use black or blue ink for your answers. You may use a fountain pen or a ballpoint pen. Reserve pencils for diagrams only. Handwriting and spelling will be considered, so strive for clarity Bring mathematical and drawing instruments for relevant subjects
- Question Analysis: Carefully read the questions to avoid wasting time writing unnecessary information that is not asked for. Marks will not be awarded for irrelevant content
- Time Management: Avoid spending excessive time on one or two questions, leaving insufficient time for others that you can answer
- Submission: When notified to stop, organize your answer book and sheets in the correct order (usually the order in which you answered the questions). Ensure that all pages have your index number. Bind them together at the left-hand corner and submit them UNFOLDED to the supervisor
- Withdrawal: Notify the Council of any examination withdrawal before taking any papers of the examination
