General Instructions

  1. KNEC will offer Summative assessments to teacher trainees undertaking the Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) through the CBATE e-assessment system.
  2. Teacher Trainers will access the assessment papers by logging in to the KNEC assessment portal eassessment.knec.ac.ke using their assessment numbers and provided password.
  3. Only identified trainees will be able to access the KNEC e-assessment portal.
  4. The time allowed for each paper is indicated against the name of the paper and NO EXTRA TIME WILL BE ALLOWED.
  5. In case of any discrepancy, the time stated on the question paper must be taken as correct. Teacher trainees with Visual Impairment will NOT be given extra time other than what is stated on their respective papers.
    Any time allocated to reading through questions, studying maps, etc, is included in the total time shown, except when special paper instructions indicate otherwise.
  6. Your attention is drawn to the regulations governing the conduct of teacher trainees on the back page.
  7. Trainers should ensure that the teacher trainees take note of the instructions given at the back and are aware of the penalties for irregularities or misconduct.
  8. The Portfolio assessment for Art and Craft for summative assessment will start on 24th May 2023. The uploading of the scores in the Teacher Education Portal should be completed by 10th July 2024
