The RTSA Online Portal is a self-service portal that allows drivers and vehicle owners to access electronic activities such as applications for driver’s license and renewal, roadworthiness application, and booking of practical tests among other activities via ZamPortal e-services platform.
RTSA Portal Registration Procedures
The RTSA portal registration process has to be completed on the ZamPortal where your details will be captured and stored on the ZamPass platform. This allows users to use the same credentials for all government services online. Check the article on how to create your account on the ZamPortal to access the RTSA e-services.
Documents Required for RTSA License Renewal
- Police report (if stolen)
- National ID (or passport for foreign nationals)

Procedures for RTSA License Renewal Online
- Visit the RTSA website at www.rtsa.org.zm
- Click on the pay online menu
- Click on the Driver’s Licence (Renewal and Duplicate) link to redirect to the ZamPortal. (NB: you may also access the RTSA e-services directly on the Zamportal via www.zamportal.gov.zm/service-category/for-drivers
- Click on the Apply for Service button
- Read the notice on the page and click on the proceed button
- Enter your Zamportal username and password
- Click on the Continue button
- Select a service you intend to apply for
- Your personal data will be automatically retrieved by the system
- Fill out the application form with your and proceed to make your payment
- A confirmation of acceptance with instructions will be displayed on the next page
- Visit the designated RTSA station to pick up your new driver’s license card

Cost of RTSA License
The fee for Zambia RTSA license renewal is ZMW 312 and the duplicate fee is ZMW 144. Drivers will be required to pay a fee of K398.00 for an expired driver’s license.
How to Pay RTSA Road Tax Online
RTSA Road Tax is an annual or quarterly payment for using vehicles on Zambia’s national roads. Follow these procedures to make your payment online;
- 1. Login using your NRC or passport number and password (first-time applicants register here: https://zampass.gsb.gov.zm/register)
- Select a service and click Apply
- Verify your personal data form (retrieved automatically)
- Complete the service request form, pay online, and submit an application
- Preview the service certificate, download or print

How to Book RTSA Vehicle Inspection Online
As part of ensuring safety on the road, RTSA required drivers and car owners to book vehicle inspection online for their cars to be examined using these procedures;
- Login using your NRC or passport number and password from the ZamPortal
- Select your preferred service and Click Apply
- Verify your personal details (retrieved automatically)
- Complete the application form, pay by credit/debit card or mobile money, and click on submit
- Receive confirmation of acceptance, with instructions on the next steps
- Download or print out the Examiner Report Form
- Bring your vehicle to any RTSA Station to complete the examination and receive the Certificate of Road Fitness for your motor vehicle or trailer
Note: The cost of the RTSA Motor Vehicle examination fee is ZMW 64 and can be paid online with a credit/debit card or mobile money.
