The Teaching Council of Zambia – TCZ portal is the official self-service platform used by teachers in Zambia to complete vital online activities of the commission such as the registration of new applicants, monitoring of Continuous Profession Development (CPD), renewal of practicing certificates and recruitment of new teachers. In this post, we will explore how to log in as a teacher with your TCZ PIN and password or register as a new applicant.

Requirements for TCZ Online Application

You will need the following documents and information in order to be able to apply for  registration on the Teaching Council of Zambia portal;

• An NCR Number ( Passport Number for Non-Zambians )
• An active phone number
• A working email address
• One (1) Passport size photo
• Verified copies of academic qualifications
• Verified copies of Professional qualifications
• Bank deposit slip
• Certified copy of NRC

TCZ Online Registration Process

Follow these steps to create an account on the Teaching Council of Zambia – TCZ portal;

• Visit the TCZ Portal via www.teacher.tcz.ac.zm
• Click on the Apply for Registration menu option
• Fill out the registration form with your details
  • NCR Number
  • Email address
  • Firstname and Lastname
  • Nationality
  • Gender
  • Date of Birth
  • Marital Status
• Click on the Create button
• An SMS will be sent to your phone as confirmation of your registration

How to Apply for TCZ Registration

• Pick up the Teacher Registration Application form from the Focal point persons at Debs if in Lusaka, and collect it from the data center at Jesmondine, Mwambula Road.
• Visit the TCZ website www.teacher.tcz.ac.zm.
• Fill in ALL sections of the Application form
• Deposit the Application fee in Zanaco (using Bill Muster) or Natsave (Using the Customized deposit slip with TCZ logo) according to the applicants’ category and obtain a bank Deposit slip;
• Submit the application form to TCZ with the following attachments:
  • One (1) Passport size photo;
  • Verified copies of academic qualifications;
  • Verified copies of Professional qualifications;
  • Bank deposit slip;
  • Certified copy of NRC;
• Obtain original TCZ receipt of payment from TCZ Accounts Unit;
• Non-Zambians should attach other relevant supporting documents and clearance from Zambia Qualification Authority (ZAQA);
• Submit the forms at your Debs office/regional offices in Kitwe, Livingstone, and Kasama. If in Lusaka, submit your application form at the Accreditation and Registration Center in Jesmondine, Mwambula Road.
• You will later be informed of the outcome of your application via E-mail.

How to Check Your TCZ Number Online

Check your TCZ Teachers Number  online with these steps;

1. Visit the URL: teacher.tcz.ac.zm
2. Click on Verify
3. Enter your NRC as the system requires
4. The Status of your documents will be availed

How to apply for TCZ Practising Certificate Online

Check the fee according to the category you want to pay and apply for and deposit the fee at either NATSAVE (TCZ deposit slip) or ZANACO (bill Muster);

• Access the TCZ practicing certificate link www.teacher.tcz.ac.zm
• Click on Apply for Practicing Certificate button
• Click on the subscribe link
• Enter your TCZ/NRC number or Passport Number for Non-Zambian
• Enter a  secure password and confirm your input
• Click on the Subscribe button to proceed
• Click on the Teacher Login link
• Enter your TCZ number and password and log in
• Select Apply for certification from the dashboard
• Select option served
• Select the number of years served
• Select qualifications
• Select Class
• Upload your passport-size photo
• Upload the photo of your signature
• Upload the computer printed deposited slip
• Type the reference number on the computer printed deposited slip. If more than one
  ref no. use the slash (/) to separate the numbers. eg. 473480000000000/236790000099900
• Click the Apply button to complete the process

Important Notice: All the teachers with the TCZ number can apply for a practicing certificate even if they have not yet received the registration certificate.
