Community Health
Community Health offers diploma and certificate programs in community health. The CHEW program is a 3-year (6-semester) diploma program leading to a diploma in Community Health Extension Work (CHEW).
Entry requirements include five ‘O’ Level credit passes from SSCE/GCE WAEC or NECO, obtained in no more than two sittings. The passes must include:
- Biology/Health Science (must be a credit pass)
- Anyone credit passes from Chemistry, Food & Nutrition, Physics, and Geography.
- Any two credit passes from Account, Agricultural Science, Commerce, and Economics.
- Two compulsory credit passes in English Language and Mathematics.
Alternatively, qualified JCEW certificate applicants with two years of post-qualification experience and a valid practice license can also obtain the CHEW diploma through a 2-year (4-semester) course.
The JCHEW program is a 2-year (4-semester) certificate program with entry requirements of five ‘O’ Level passes, including English, Mathematics, Biology, or Health Science from SSCE/GCE WAEC or NECO, obtained in no more than two sittings.

Medical Laboratory Science Technician
Duration: 3 years (6 semesters)
Entry Qualification
- Five ‘O’ Level Credit Passes
- Subjects: Mathematics, English, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics
- Obtained from SSCE WAEC or NECO Within a maximum of two sittings within 5 years
- Alternatively, candidates admitted must hold a Medical Lab Assistant’ certificate
- Additional requirement for certificate holders: Two years of post-qualification experience
Health Information Management Technician
Duration: 3 years (6 semesters)
Entry Qualification
- Five ‘O’ Level passes
- Three of the passes must be at the credit level
- Obtained at a single sitting in SSCE or its equivalent
- Required Subjects (English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Health Science) Any other two (2) subjects
