NMCZ Registration for New Nurses and Midwives. The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ) has commenced the registration of candidates who have successfully cleared the May/June 2024 Competence and Licensure Examination. Candidates must register their qualifications with NMCZ via the GNC Portal from 11th September, 2024 to 10th November, 2024.
Registration Process for Newly Qualified Nurses and Midwives in Zambia
- Candidates who had their training at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) based in North Western, Copperbelt, Luapula, and Northern provinces will be registered online through the Kitwe office.
- Candidates who completed their training from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) based in Lusaka province will be registered through the Lusaka office.
- Candidates who completed their training from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) based in Eastern, Central, Muchinga, Western, and Southern provinces will be registered physically at the Lusaka office.
NMCZ Registration Information for New Nurses and Midwives
- All applicants must ensure that their Grade 12 Certificates are verified by the Examinations Council of Zambia or Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA) prior to their scheduled registration date.
- An application for Early or Late registration attracts a fee of Five Hundred Kwacha (K500.00).
- It is a criminal offence for any person to practice as a nurse or midwife without being registered by NMCZ and is punishable upon conviction, to a fine not exceeding five hundred thousand penalty units (K150,000.00) or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding five years, or to both.
Notice: Any applicant who is unable to attend registration on their scheduled date must inform the Registrar in writing prior to their scheduled date to avoid disrupting the registration schedule.
