TUT Email Login. The Tshwane University of Technology TUT4Life platform allows registered students to access the university’s email services which is required to log into most of the available online resources and also used to reset the TUT Student Portal. In this post, we will assist students with the procedures on how to activate the TUT4Life email account.
How to access the TUT Email Service
To access the TUT4Life integrated service, you must be a TUT registered student. Once you are a TUT registered student, your 50GB email and 1TB SkyDrive account will automatically be created with additional access to other Microsoft tools. To activate your account, you need to first reset your account.
Steps to Reset Your Account
Follow these procedures to reset your Tshwane University of Technology TUT4Life email account;
- Visit the TUT4Life website at https://tut4life.tut.ac.za
- Click on Reset My Password
- Enter your Student ID number and click on Submit
- Now change your password to your own password. (NB: You have to follow all the Password Rules listed on the screen)
- Now select a new password
- Confirm your new password then wait for 2 minutes for the password to synchronize, then you can access your email.
TUT Email Login
Follow these steps to log into the Tshwane University of Technology TUT4Life email;
- Visit the Tshwane University of Technology website www.tut.ac.za
- Scroll to the bottom of the page
- Click on the bottom and click on the student email under the tools menu
- Click on the student email link
- Enter your TUT4Life email and password
- Click on the next button to log into your account

TUT4Life Password Criteria
Follow these password security rules when creating a new password on your TUT4Life email platform;
- Password must contain characters from four of the following categories:
- Uppercase characters (A through Z)
- Lowercase characters (a through z)
- Base 10 digits (0 through 9)
- Special characters: ~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\(){}[]:;”‘<>,.?/
- Password must contain at least 8 characters and a maximum of 16
- Your student number may not appear in your password
- Password may not consist of 4 consecutive numerical
- Password must not contain the user’s account name (full name and surname)
How to Reset TUT Email Password
Follow these procedures to reset your TUT4Life email PIN/Password;
- Visit the TUT4Life Password recovery portal via https://tut4life.tut.ac.za/password/
- Enter your Student Number, ID/Password and ITS PIN
- Click on the Submit button
- The system will load your details and display a temporary password which you can use to log into your TUT4Life email
