About the URSB Portal
The URSB Portal is a comprehensive self-service e-government portal developed and managed by the government of Uganda to provide services such as business registration, credentials validation, trademark filling, etc.

Users can access the following e-services from their URSB account after signing up on the platform;
- Business or Company registration
- Business name search and reservation
- Annual returns filling
- Civil documents verification

URSB Online Portal Registration
Follow these steps to create your URSB account online;
- Visit the URSB portal at https://obrs.ursb.go.ug
- Click the Create Account button at the top right corner
- Select your Nationality
- If your selected nationality is Ugandan;
i. Enter your NIN
ii. Enter your contact details (email and phone number)
- If your selected nationality is Ugandan;
- If the nationality selected is not Ugandan
- Select ID Type (Passport or Alien ID)
- Enter your Passport No if the selected ID type is “Passport ID” or “Alien ID No.” if the selected ID type is “Alien ID”
- Enter your Name
- Select your Gender
- Enter your contact details (email and phone number)
- Attach a scanned copy of your Identity Document
- Check the terms and conditions box to accept the terms
- Click the Register button
- An email with a link to verify your email and phone number is sent to the email address provided above
- Click the link to verify your email address
- Enter the OTP code sent through SMS to your phone to verify the phone number
- Set a password for the account to complete the registration process

How to log into your URSB Online Portal Account
Persons with a URSB account can log into the online portal with the following procedures
- Visit the Online Portal at https://obrs.ursb.go.ug
- Click the Login button at the top right corner
- Enter the phone number associated with your account
- Enter the password for the account
- Click the Sign in to log in to your account
How to Reserve a Name from the URSB Portal
Follow the steps to apply for a business name reservation online from the URSB account;
- Log into your URSB portal account
- Click on the Start button from the left-side menu
- Click on Reserve Name button
- Select Entity Type for the entity under consideration for registration (Business Name, Company or Building Society)
- Select the Entity Category if applicable for the selected entity type above
- Enter the preferred Entity Name under consideration for registration
- Add alternative name options for the entity under consideration for registration
- Select Nature of Business and click on Save and Continue
- Preview all your entries, types and Name Options
- Click the Generate PRN to generate PRN
- Click on Choose payment method to select your preferred mode of payment
- Make payment

How to Register a Business Name
Follow these steps to register your business name online using the URSB portal
- Log into your URSB account with your phone number and password
- Click Start from the left-side menu
- Click on the Register/Apply Business Name link
- Identify a reserved name to be registered from the pop-up window
- Click the Register button alongside the identified reserved name
- Enter the particulars of the business name. This include the date of commencement, business address, official contacts, and partner details)
- Tick the checkbox to agree to the statutory declaration
- Click the Save and Continue button to proceed to the next step
- For a Limited Liability Partnership, enter particulars of the Liability in form 6
- Preview the details captured in the forms included in the application
- Download, Sign, and Upload forms included in the application
- Add other required attachments
- Click Save and Continue to submit the application
