How to Apply to WITS 2024/2025
Follow the procedure below to apply for the University of Witwatersrand admission
- Visit the WITS website via www.wits.ac.za
- Click on Study at Wits
- Choose the specific program you wish to apply for (an undergraduate degree, a postgraduate degree, or Short Courses )
- Scroll down and click on Apply to Wits
- Click on the Apply Online button
- Login to your WITS account using your Temporary ID and Password
- Complete the online application form with your personal details
- Provide all the necessary information required for the application
- Upload the required supporting documents
- Submit your online application

WITS Admission Requirements 2024/2025
To be eligible for admission at the University of Witwatersrand, you must possess the following
- National Senior Certificate (NSC), Independent Examinations Board (IEB), or South African Comprehensive Assessment Institute (SACAI) subjects
- Applicants are required to take the National Benchmark Tests (NBT) before being considered for admission
- A National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4 with at least three fundamental subjects scoring between 60 – 69% OR three vocational subjects from the designated list scoring between 70-79%
- English must have been taken as either the language of learning and teaching or as the first additional language
- Mathematics must have been taken as a fundamental component
- A minimum score of 70-79% must have been achieved for all seven subjects in both the fundamental and vocational categories

The application fee for WITS University is R100 for South African citizens
The application fee for WITS University for is R700 foreign citizens
All postgraduate applicants are required to pay an application fee of R200
