How to Create a TIMSVIRL NTSA Portal Account
Follow these steps to register for an account on the NTSA TIMS Portal;
- Visit the NTSA TIMS Portal via https://timsvirl.ntsa.go.ke
- Click on the register account link
- Select your preferred type of registration (ie. Individual, Dealer, Institution, etc)
- Enter your Serial Number for individual registration type and Tax PIN for other registration types
- Click on the Search button to load your records
- Fill out the registration form with all the required details to complete your registration
Note: You can also log into your TIMSVIRL NTSA Portal account with your eCitizen portal account credentials if you have an eCitizen account.

How to apply for New NTSA Number Plates
Follow these procedures to apply for the new Kenya NTSA New generation number plates online for your car or motorcycle on the NTSA TIMS portal;
- Log into your NTSA TIMS Portal with your username and password
- Select vehicle registration and apply for a reflective plate
- Select the vehicle and click on the next button
- Select reason (New Generation Plate)
- Select your preferred notification method (ie. SMS)
- Choose a number plate and format (square or oblong)
- Upload in PDF original logbook and plate (Front and back)
- Select the collection center and enter your ID number
- Make a payment of Ksh 3,050
- A Collection notification will be sent to you via SMS when your plate is ready for pickup
