About the Zambia Wildlife Authority
The Zambia Wildlife Authority is a Zambian Government agency established to manage and conserve Zambia’s wildlife estate comprising 20 National Parks, 36 Game Management Areas, and one bird sanctuary, which cover 31 percent of the country’s land mass.
Zambia Wildlife Requirements
Candidates interested in applying for the ZAWA recruitment must meet the following minimum requirements outlined below;
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
- National Registration Card (NRC)
- Must have no criminal record
- Strong commitment to wildlife conservation
- Excellent physical fitness and outdoor skills
- Ability to work in challenging and remote environments
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of local wildlife and ecosystems is a plus

Responsibilities of Wildlife Police Officers
Successful candidates who are recruited into the Zambia Wildlife Authority will be required to perform the following responsibilities;
- Patrol protected areas to prevent poaching and illegal wildlife trade
- Investigate and apprehend individuals involved in wildlife-related crimes
- Monitor and report on wildlife populations and their habitats
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and conservation organizations
- Educate the public on the importance of wildlife conservation
- Enforce wildlife protection laws and regulations
